Silverlight is Microsoft’s .Net/WPF powered competitor for Flash, except that Silverlight is much more targetted towards developers IMO. I think that it is a promising technology.  Microsoft has made great improvements from 1.0 to the 1.1 Alpha to the 2.0 release.  Silverlight has the opportunity to become what Java *should* have been: write once, run anywhere.  Anyone who has written a Java applet knows how false this statement is for that platform.  It will be interesting to see how Silverlight progresses.
